Bali Wedding: Balinese Decoration
As I wrote in our article about Balinese dance ,actually there are a lot of Balinese activities and originally use for religious purpose but now day since the tourism industry is growing well ,so the Balinese decoration might be used for a hotel decoration as well ,Bali wedding, hotel wedding, Bali chapel wedding and many more .There many flower of leaf arrangements composing Balinese decoration those are :
Paku Pidpid, paku is the Balinese word mean fern and Pidpid is the type of the fern has a strong leaf again the sunshine and also some time used for a landscape in a garden .This paku pidpid normally hanging around above us tied up on a horizontal strings.Pakupidpid decoration made of young woven coconut leaf ,the new paku pidpid has a creamy color and if its dry the color will change into black .Another type of flower arrangement called Gebogan:,gebogan mean some thing high arranged like pyramid ,the gebogan can be consist of totally with flowers , with any kind of fruits or a combination of flowers and fruits.”Pajeng”pajeng mean umbrella , Balinese people using many type of umbrella for decoration mostly colorful,composed by white ,black,yellow.Most of Bali wedding decoration choose white color ,because white color for Balinese mean holy ,so this color will choose for a holy patrimony or Bali wedding .Another decoration is “umbul-umbul” it is a high vertical flag stick on a bamboo pole but dry one ,this umbul –umbul normally placed in an entrance for Bali wedding or a house where the wedding taken place .the last one composing Balinese decoration called “Penjor”.Penjor is classified into two ,the first penjor for Bali wedding or any decoration.Penjor for decoration will be made without following any rule applicable but contain of artistic thing .Penjor for ceremonial must be following the rule ,for instant on the bottom part , this penjor must be completed with a little shrine , and the put a coconut fruit ,upper part put some farming product rice paddies ,any kind of fruit and on the top will put a holy white cloth with Balinese writing with ONG Kara, it is a symbol of God representing Brahma Wisnu and SIVA
